Instructions for Mini-papers for C. Gordon Van Arman Award Participants

Instructions for Authors

  • Authors must provide their affiliations and complete mailing address, telephone and fax number, plus Email address.

  • All manuscripts must conform to the style of Inflammation Research for details of references, etc.

  • The title should contain a maximum of 20 words.

  • Manuscripts should be subdivided into the following sections:

    • Introduction

    • Materials and methods (combined)

    • Results and discussion (combined)

  • Abstract, running-head and keywords should NOT be included with manuscript. Abstracts should be submitted separately according to Procedure "1" in the Van Arman General Instructions

Total length of text, either:

A) Maximum of 700 words* + maximum of 8 references + 2 half-page or 1 full-page item(s) of display**

or

B) Maximum of 850 words* + maximum of 8 references + 1 half-page item of display **

or

C) Maximum of 1000 words* + maximum of 8 references + no display items.

* This includes: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, and legends to figures and/or tables (if any). The text of your manuscript should fit onto three pages (approximately 30 lines/page and 10 words per line).

** Items of display include figures (maximum of two panels per figure) and tables (black and white only)

  • Only submissions by email will be accepted unless prior arrangements with the Van Arman Chair, Lisa Olson, are made.

  • It is understood that neither the manuscript nor the data it contains have been previously published or are being submitted for publication elsewhere and that all authors listed have approved submission of the abstract. The IRA will only publish abstracts of the mini-paper finalists so that future publication of the work by the authors is not impeded.

  • The Inflammation Research Association requires that all studies have been carried out in accordance with ethical and legal standards for human and animal experimentation.
