New Investigators
Following on the success of the
New Investigators’ Meetings at the 14th and 15th
International Conferences, the Inflammation Research
Association will sponsor two sessions for New
Investigators mentoring and networking opportunities.
There will be a Speed Networking session Monday, September
27th and a panel discussion over breakfast on Wednesday,
September 29th.
Network Session
On Monday, September 27th, a speed networking reception
will be held for New Investigators from 5:00-6:30 pm.
Start your Conference experience meeting IRA members in a
fun, informal setting! Speed Networking will feature 6
sequential, one on one, ten minute conversations, offering
an opportunity for fast-paced interactions with IRA
professionals. Introduce yourself, ask questions, and
connect with Association members!
Breakfast Panel
A New Investigators Breakfast Panel will be held on
Wednesday, September 29th. Key individuals from industry
and academia will discuss the critical steps to get that
first job after post-graduate training. Through engaging
presentations and sage discussions with industry
(pharmaceutical, biotech, and not-for-profit) and academic representatives, participants will leave the New
Investigators Breakfast Panel with:

an appreciation of the employment outlook in both the
near and far term;

an understanding of the process involved in applying
for industrial and academic positions;

recommendations for CV style and content;
-
successful interview techniques; and
-
contacts for career discernment and advice.

Investigators' Speed Networking Session and the New Investigators Breakfast Panel Discussion.
