GE Healthcare® Poster
Competition
The Most
Therapeutic Potential
GE Healthcare® is generously providing a
grant to support a competition with cash prizes for the three best
posters at the 15th International Conference. The first poster
competition was held at the 9th International Conference, where
three representatives of the Inflammation Research Association Board
formed the judging panel to select those posters describing work
with “the most therapeutic potential.” Monetary prizes at the 14th
International Conference at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay,
Cambridge, MD were awarded at the closing banquet on October 18,
2006.

2006 Poster Competition Award Winners |

| First Prize |
First prize of $2500, for the poster representing research with
the most therapeutic potential was awarded to William F. Westlin
and his colleagues from Praecis Pharmaceuticals for Poster A162
entitled: Disease-modifying activity in a model of rheumatoid
arthritis with an orally available inhibitor of methionine
aminopeptidase type-2, PPI-2458. |

| Second Prize
| Second prize of $1000 went to the authors of Poster A129,
authored by Patrice Lee et al, a team of scientists from Array
Biopharma and Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute for their
work entitled: Effects of a p38 MAP kinase inhibitor in an
animal model of pulmonary inflammation via intratracheal or
inhaled delivery. |

| Third Prize
| Philip Low (Endocyte) and co-workers at Purdue University and
Endocyte were awarded the Third prize ($500) for Poster A133:
Selective targeting of drugs to activated macrophages: use in
imaging and therapy of inflammatory diseases. |

Rules of Eligibility
Scientific posters that have been
accepted by the IRA into the official General Poster Sessions are
eligible (excluding Van Arman finalists), and are automatically
entered into the competition. Authors selected for Mini-symposia
presentations have the option of also preparing a poster, which will
then be entered into the competition.
Employees of GE Healthcare® or any of its
subsidiaries are not eligible to enter.
The judging panel will only recognize
work that has not been previously published.
Procedures for Entry
To participate in the competition, eligible contestants should submit an abstract on
the form included in the online Registration Materials.
Abstracts accepted by the IRA for display as scientific
posters at the meeting will be automatically entered into the competition (excluding
Van Arman finalists).
Abstracts must be submitted in English.
Deadline for Entry
The deadline, as stated on the abstract form, is June
1, 2008. Abstracts received after this date will NOT be published/eligible.
Judging Procedures
Five representatives of the IRA will form the judging
panel. They will award a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize to the posters that, in their
opinion, describe work which has the most therapeutic potential. The decision of the
judges is final.
Prizes
The judges will announce three prizes at the Conference Banquet on
September 23, 2008.
1st prize $2500
2nd prize $1000
3rd prize $500
Prize winners will be awarded certificates and prizes at the Banquet.
